“Rumi, there’s no such thing as half demons. We would know. Celine would have told us. It has to be a trick….” Zoey said but it was clear she still had her own reservations.
And what could Rumi say to that? Celine had said she could find no records of any other half demons, not anywhere in the archive. How could hunters have never encountered a single half demon in the nearly 800 years since the honmoon was created? What were the chances they would meet them now, in this generation, when Rumi herself was one? It felt like a trap. It had to be a trap.

Then Andarna returns from her time with the Irids, more mature and aware of her abilities. She re-bonds with Violet. She reveals that Irids have a unique connection to magic, making what they channel flexible, able to be shaped to nearly anything. Together, Andarna, Tairn, and Violet decide their only hope is to bend time itself.
Their plan: send Violet, Xaden, Andarna, Tairn, and Sgaeyl back to the months before the apostasy. Aaric (Cam Tauri) and his dragon Molvic, gifted with foresight, confirm that this path offers a chance at victory with one catch: Duke Fen Riorson must be convinced to organize a rebellion in secret, working from the shadows to avoid Melgren’s battle forsight, rather than declaring open secession and plunging Tyrrendor into war against Navarre. Any course that puts Tyrrendor on a path to direct military conflict with Navarre cannot win.

Try not to leave your purses in the subway, will you?"
Catra is speechless, the woman's abrasive personality at ends with her kind gesture. "Thanks, I guess?"
The woman waves her off, her eyes darting around the apartment, her nose wrinkled in disgust. "Don't mention it. Boss would've come, but you know how it is. Busy running the streets and making deals."
Catra tilts her head and stares, hoping that some of this will click in her head because she has no clue what's happening. "I'm sorry. Who the fuck are you talking about?"
The stranger rolls her eyes as if Catra is slow to pick up on cues even though she's the one that makes no sense. "My Boss." She sighs. "Don't worry too much about it, I doubt I'll be back."
