Robin and him were there to pick Eddie up for a party and the man had been arguing with Robin about what tapes to bring, her point being that no one was going to let him play any of his music anyway. Steve had been distracted by the dumb VHS tape. It was sticking out from under a magazine with a peeling label that had the word "NURSE" in all capitals."
Steve finds a porn tape in Eddie's closet and decides to bring it home.

“I… We should go.” Eddie slipped out of Steve’s reach and made a beeline to the door, stopping to slip on his boots. Steve’s stomach nearly fell out of him. Had he fucked up so royally the night before that he couldn’t come back? No. The whole year, Steve had to remind himself. It had only been a night for Steve. For Eddie, it had been an entire year of pining and expectations that had been broken. That was going to take more than 5 dozen carnations, a compliment and a kiss on the cheek was going to fix.
