Jinx’s tear-filled eyes darted everywhere, the sky, the Z-Drive, everywhere except Ekko’s brown eyes, looking at her expectantly, looking at her as if he cared. Her gaze ended up fixed on her pistol, mere centimeters away from his chest.
She caught his intent to move forward once more, and her eyes squinted, teeth bared as she spoke. “Stop, or I’ll shoot.”

Jinx is trying her hardest to find Isha in the midst of an apocalypse.
Ekko is hellbent on trying to forgive her, even if it's hard, even if she doesn't think she deserves it.

Jinx looked over at him, at the way he was crouching to gently pull a scrap of wire out of Isha’s fingers before she broke it—or herself. His voice was soft when he explained what it did, fingers brushing hers as he showed her the switch mechanism. The girl nodded seriously, enthralled.
Something twisted and loosened all at once in her chest.
“You really don’t do things halfway,” she said, a little too quiet, a little too honest.
Ekko glanced over at her and gave a crooked smile. “Not with you.”

Sometime shortly before season 1 episode 4, Jinx and Ekko start meeting up in a ruined attic. On opposite sides of a war, their meetings are fragile and tense, but something keeps pulling them back — to the dust, the silence, the quiet space between past and future, where nothing is said and everything matters.

Summary
He hated her. Jinx. The demon that had possessed the body of his former best friend. Powder was gone, but Jinx was here to stay. He had held back his punches and avoided her in their fights for so long, too long, holding onto the last shred of hope that Powder was still in there. He desperately wanted to believe that his friend, the girl he had loved, still existed somewhere inside the monster. Today had proved him wrong and shattered the last of his foolish dreams. He had finally accepted that she was gone.
After Eve's death, Ekko sets out to get revenge on Jinx and end the bloodshed for good, but things don't go according to plan...

Summary

And she’s the same girl, really, right? At the core, at the ugly dark heart of it all, he knows she’s just one girl. There was always a bit of Jinx in Powder, just like there’s still so much Powder in Jinx. He can try to pull them apart, put Powder in one corner, Jinx in the other. Separate past and present so he can tell himself his feelings are for someone and something long gone instead of what’s right in front of him. But he can’t so easily lie to himself when she’s right there, everything he’s ever wanted telling him that he’s still everything she wants.
