Summary
A year after defeating Black Doom, Shadow the Hedgehog had grown tired of the endless battles and unwanted attention. Shadow saw his purpose as the Ultimate Lifeform to be one of protection, emerging only when the world was in genuine danger. His promise to Maria and his own desire for peace fueled this decision, driving him to distance himself from the chaos.
However, Sonic the Hedgehog felt differently. He had scoured the world in search of his former rival, determined to reconnect with the enigmatic hedgehog. And after everything that had transpired during Shadow's absence, Sonic realized that Shadow might be the only one who could truly understand what he was going through. In the wake of recent events, the blue blur found himself in need of someone he could be candid with—someone who, like him, carried a certain weight forced upon their shoulders.

Now, as he prepares to welcome his own little hoglets into the world, he also has to see if he can fix the strained relationship he has with his family.
~~He laughs, as he sits on the floor next to Ozzie, a bowl of dry cereal in his hands. It took six weeks and three days for Sonic to fall in love with Shadow. He never though he would fall in love. First because he was in hiding, never mind that he had not actually thought about it when he was younger. Then, when he didn’t need to hide anymore, there was never anyone who caught his attention, Knuckles and Tails were his siblings, and everyone else was a human. And here comes this hedgehog, this tragically beautifully kind hog. Making Sonic fall in love.~~

The only reason Jaster knew that much was because one of his closer Verde was once of a Covert. His Creed was broken and while he sought Redemption to return in the beginning, he found his soulmate who was not of his Creed.
