There's a subtle shift in his voice, a deeper meaning that wasn't there before dragging along the edges of his words- one that V finally catches onto. The way he's looking at him is less like a comrade and more like a piece of meat. "But we have an ongoing arrangement. Nothing about it changes, except for the manner in which I gain access to your blood. Do you understand what I'm asking? I can go into more specifics, if you want."
V nearly drops the rag in the river. He faces Astarion again, meeting his gaze, searching it. "Oh gods, you're serious."
Astarion casts his hands up helplessly. "I'm just saying! It's a precious commodity; no sense letting it go to waste!"

Summary
Juno Steel has done good for Mars as President Aurinko’s bodyguard, but if she doesn’t win her reelection campaign, they’ll both be out of a job. Then paparazzi photos surface of Juno kissing the Brahmese prince. It was only supposed to be a one night stand, but now the press is accusing Buddy of showing special favors to an outcast outer rim planet.
Fixing Brahma’s PR would be a win for both teams, and Buddy has the solution: Juno and Nureyev have to pretend they’ve been carrying on a secret relationship for months, and create a romance so sweeping that the public forgives the ethical breach.
First problem: Nureyev snuck out on Juno without even leaving his name, and Juno is maybe a little bit bitter.
Second problem: Nureyev turns out to be vapid and selfish and grates on Juno’s every nerve.
Third problem: Juno’s starting to suspect that the Brahman prince is hiding more than his planet’s crumbling infrastructure.
Juno’s compelled to keep up the charade long enough to solve this mystery, even if his heart gets broken in the process.

For the first time this evening, Halsin falters, hand stuttering to a still against the page. He blinks a few times at the notebook before his eyes lift, shifting between the lovers.
Red eyes drift to meet the druids, gaze heavy and meaningful. Something Halsin very much picks up on based on the twitch Zyn sees in his jaw. Nostrils flaring slightly as he inhales.
“Would you like to see?” Astarion offers sensuously.

I stand up, sliding my hands into the pockets of my high-waisted pants, “You looked very good tonight.”
“You’re doing it again.”
“What?”
