Lyonel shook his head and leaned in closer to Dunk, who automatically did the same. When Lyonel kept talking, he had lowered his voice to a dramatic stage whisper which did absolutely nothing to conceal the actual volume of what he was saying. “I mean another kind of company.”
Dunk nodded slowly, furrowing his brow even further. “I see.” He had no idea what Lyonel was talking about.
Lyonel just stared at Dunk in silence for a long moment, looking at him expectantly. Dunk held his gaze without saying anything. Eventually, Lyonel cleared his throat. “I mean the company of another man.”
The sudden confession caught Dunk off guard, and he couldn’t help the blush that started to creep up his cheeks. “Oh. I see.”

"What? No, I'm not getting a new job," Robert said, and the surprise at least sounded completely honest in his voice. He paused, and Flambae could almost feel the wheels turning in his head even across the distance as he tried to decide how much to tell them.
There was a pause.
"I wasn't going on a date. And I'm not getting another job. I was going to a funeral," he said finally.
"Oh," Mal said quietly.
"My condolences," Coop added a little louder.
"I..." Robert started and then swallowed.
"You don't have to explain," Flambae said, because yeah. Okay, this really wasn't their business, even if he wished Robert knew that he could lean on them if he needed.
"No, it's part of the job," Robert continued, though that made no fucking sense. "I was Mecha Man for... god, more than fifteen years. I had about two dozen make-a-wish kids. And I try to keep in contact, if the parents are willing."

Herm was jealous of the marks Ajmal wore, cuts and punctures and whole amputations healed to leave behind rippling tissue, each one with a story to tell. For his part, Herm had little more than freckles and birthmarks to speak of; he’d been a cautious, frightened child who’d rarely gotten hurt, and even the times that other kids had taken it upon themselves to press their disdain into his skin, it hadn’t ever been bad enough to leave scars.
In his youthful, untouched plainness, Herm felt green as grass, knowing he still had a long way to go until he could truly call himself a hero without feeling like he was lying.
The thought of earning his very first scar at Ajmal’s hands, though, in long, shaking lines over his shoulder blades, and to have that story to look back on—well, that was very different indeed.
“Oh,” said Ajmal, perking up behind him, his smile growing teeth. His hands found Herm’s hips, a firm, warm grip on either side, and he nudged his nose into a spot behind Herm’s ear that made him shiver. “You like that.”

Viktor did try to squish down his ugly wanting for Jayce, he truly did. At first, he had tried to brush aside his infatuation by telling himself it was for the greater good, as if he were some kind of celibate martyr.
Relationships and sex could get complicated, and he'd never forgive himself if his insistent needs were what collapsed all their hard work into the ground.
He wasn't a prepubescent teen anymore; he could accept what would never be given.
But with every shared glance, every moment spent absorbed in their work together, bit by bit, it made it harder to resist.
So, eventually, he had to say fuck it. It's not like the man knew what Viktor was thinking, right?
Why try to hold back his thoughts, then?
Or, Viktor has a tendency to daydream; Jayce has a tendency to overwork himself. Maybe together, they can find a solution.

Quickly, Herm took hold of his shoulders and doused the flames before shoving Chad into the row of lockers. A loud bang went through the locker room, followed by another, slightly quieter one as Herm put his knee between the older hero’s legs, just as Flambae had done to him before.
"P-Please shut…u-up," Herman pleaded, carefully sliding his leg up Flambae’s thigh, the asshole smirking when Herm’s thigh finally reached its destination.
"Make me," Chad challenged him, lapping up the blood still spilling from his lip. His burning fingers dragged down Herm’s back, leaving hot scratchmarks in their wake. "Or maybe I’ll have to find someone else?"
