Summary
Grace and Rocky encounter another human on their journey back to Erid and it goes something like this:
“Oh sorry that’s kinda rude of us, right? Rocky is an Eridian from the planet Erid. I’ve been learning to be more fluent in the language, full immersion usually works best, at least according to linguistics, and-"
“Grace rambling. Note: Human act stupid around potential mate.”
Grace’s face flushed and he shoved at Rocky’s ball while the man cocked his head to the side, fully confused by the whole sight.
“Shut up, man,” he hissed at his best friend, making Rocky cackle.
“Again, I’m sorry! Look, we haven't met anyone else out here for ages. You’re kind of a miracle to us.”
“You’re kind of an angel to me,” the man then said, voice rough.

Or: Rocky really, really wants Grace to mate with another human. For science (and Grace's happiness) of course.

Summary
When Grace gets seemingly teleported by means unknown into the SM-13 right as it was nearing The Light, both Simon and Grace have no idea what is happening. Grace knows he was supposed to be in his house on Erid, Simon knows this new guy cannot possibly be a hallucination, and Ava, upon hearing Grace ramble about theories for how he got there, knows that new guy is Smart. Could-Secure-Our-Survival Smart.
She orders Simon to bring Grace back to the surface, and thus begins Grace's ordeal in a starless universe.- Language:

Simon felt an unsteady breath leave him as he hurried to the man, Grace carefully using the lower levels of the shelf to climb down until Simon was close enough and he was reaching up to help him and-Grace just dropped the short rest of the way, into his arms.
Simon caught him with a startle, wrapping his arms around his torso with a jolt of surprise, not having expected him to just-
Grace wrapped his own arms around his shoulders and neck, an almost bruising hold, squeezing him for dear life.
