Shane’s mouth snaps shut abruptly, and he seems to think about it for a moment before nodding, “He said something, okay? He’s a racist piece of shit, and I just -” he flaps his hands around in frustration, “Snapped, okay?” finally looks at him again, and he looks mortified. He can’t stop shaking his hands out at his sides, and his eyes are brimming with unshed tears, and David is very familiar with this version of his son.
“I didn’t mean to,” Shane admits, his voice breaking in the middle. “He’s fine, I just broke his nose, I don’t know, there was a lot of blood.”

Shane complies, again, again and again and again, so many times he doesn’t even realize the doctor had turned around to hand his mom a document, who was staring at her son with poorly concealed worry.
OR
Shane Hollander has OCD, but not the rational kind you usually see portrayed online because it pisses me off that the ugly parts of the disease are romanticized and boiled down to just cleanliness!
