Shane showed his phone to Ilya, who took it uninterested.
‘Oh it’s day where you can come to hockey training with your partner. Is way for Ottawa to support their players by caring about their family, or something.
Every couple forms team and they do little challenges on the ice. Best couple wins cup, I think. Is fun’
Shane tried not to sound too jealous as he asked: ‘Who are you going with?’
‘Nobody. Is fine. I have my team’
‘Yeah, but you also have a boyfriend’, Shane pointed out begrudgingly.
Or, the Ottawa Centaurs organise a WAGs Day but Shane knows that if he signs up to be Ilya’s teammate, they'll have to work hard to keep their secret. And to win that cup, of course.

Summary
Shane stares down at the birth control pills and ruefully pops one out. A twenty step plan takes shape in his mind, but following it to a T will be critical. He can’t just spring this on his husband, he needs to soft-launch it in a safe environment over the course of many months until eventually, he and Ilya arrive at the conclusion together—perfectly on the same page. Decisions like this needed to be made as a team, not individually.
Or, Shane decides he wants to start a family, but instead of talking to his husband like a normal person, he crafts an elaborate plan. The plan fails spectacularly.
