The arrival at Erid is a momentous occasion. Rocky is excited and thrilled. Ryland is overwhelmed. But the reunion is happy, beautiful, amazing.
Or that's what it should have been. Except Rocky gets hurt, Ryland is left to try and communicate with an alien planet, and everyone is scrambling to figure out how to do this. To Grace, this is incredible but also bittersweet - he got Rocky home safely with the taumoeba, now he just gets... to starve. To Erid, this is insane - how did Rocky show up in an alien spaceship with a child???

Ryland Grace is stuck trying to speak Eridian, immediately makes himself sound like a child, and Rocky's world and family scramble to help this strange pebble. Misunderstandings galore, alongside hurt/comfort and angst and fluff.

Carl is absolutely not having a quarter life crisis. Sure, he just left his girlfriend of over four years, found out she was cheating on him with multiple people, and spent an inadvisable amount of money buying her spoiled show cat off of her, but that's just a bad breakup. Besides, how's he meant to play COD properly without Donut in his lap?
I guess, in addition to his normal stupid dreams he's now having really weird ones where all of civilization is flattened and he goes and lives peacefully in the woods, but that's just dream shit. Can't control that.
Yeah, his best friend (and one of his only friends) of over a decade is now moving across the country with his new girlfriend, he found out he has a eight year old little half-brother, and that his crazy ex got someone fired from his job which is now making everything at work awkward on top of all this other bullshit — okay, maybe he's having a little bit of a quarter life crisis. Jesus, back the hell off.
