    Shane was heavily encouraged by Rose to get a dog. He hesitated; he wasn't sure it was something he needed. But Shane Hollander couldn't sleep. He woke up all night - hearing sounds that weren't there. After a disastrous and dangerous relationship came to an end, it took him a long time to find his bearings. Adding a dog to the mix would help him feel more secure. Cut to meeting Ilya Rozanov at an animal shelter while he looked at a large dog who was a bit rough around the edges. He couldn't expect that Ilya would be present far beyond this one-off encounter. Nor could he anticipate how life-altering it would be.
