Stede Bonnet owns The Lighthouse Restaurant, a safe space for his friends to work and hang out. Diagnosed with a heart disease, he anxiously awaits a new heart. He finally gets the call that he has a match.
Three years later, Ed is still mourning Izzy but he’s trying to move on. On a blind double date at The Lighthouse, he has an immediate spark with his server, Stede. They begin dating and things are going well until Stede accidentally finds out that Izzy was his heart donor.

The afterlife is a mystery to the living, and sometimes also a mystery to the dead. You don't have to worry, though. Death employs hand-picked souls to help guide others after their mortal demise. Where those guided souls go, no one but Death himself knows, but his guides do their duty.
And their duty definitely does not include falling in love with their assigned mortal.

“That was a wedding,” Aziraphale replied, surprised at his own annoyance that somebody called a wedding a ‘thing’.
“Yeah, obviously, didn’t miss that part,” Crowley said with a shrug, and waved abruptly in Aziraphale’s general direction. “Neither did you, from the looks of it, since you’re dressed like a wedding bride and everything.”
“Excuse me, I am a—“ Aziraphale stopped himself, and started over.
