She’s been calling him Lestat now, instead of ‘papa’ or ‘pops’ or the more severe ‘father’ she used to break out when she was being dramatic. Like she can distance herself from him, like she didn’t use to follow Lestat around like a shadow, imitating his every move while Lestat pretended not to notice, making increasingly dramatic gestures until Claudia was spinning around, laughing so hard she was doubled over. That feels like forever ago now, an entire decade between that family and this one.

personal dc universe, fics will be ordered chronologically where possible but sometimes that’s hard because several fics happen at overlapping times. bruce wayne & selina kyle focused; tracing their relationships and their characters in moments of time. (and of course, examining how their relationship changes)
character starting places are the versions of the characters from the matt reeves 2022 batman universe, but liberties will probably be taken as time goes on (for example, filling in timeline gaps and changing details of canon as necessary)
i will be adding fics that happen both further back in the beginning of the series, and possibly timeskipping ahead as i want to. i will try to explain were in the timeline each fic is in the notes. please ask if you are confused.

this is what lestat thinks to himself as he allows his body the time to shake and tremble and feel the complicated, nameless bullshit emotions he always feels. sure he has a lot of feelings. maybe he is prone to lashing out from time to time. but he’s not fucking crazy.

Lestat nods vigorously and flattens his hands on the table. Winnie takes in the sight of his long fingernails and shimmering rings. “I am your student,” says Lestat. "Miss Winnie.”

It shouldn’t shock him when he steps onto the bus to see the girl from outside the show on Gabrielle’s lap on one of the pull-out couches, but it does. All the signs were there, and he’s not, though many would beg to disagree, stupid; something in him was, against all odds, still hoping this would be a forgettable encounter. Painful, yes, but forgettable. Another to add to the tally, nothing more.
The girl looks up at him, and her eyes widen like she’s been caught. Because she has been caught, he tells himself. Is this not strange to her? She still has his autograph on her arm in Sharpie. She told him she was going to get it tattooed.
