Summary
When Grace gets seemingly teleported by means unknown into the SM-13 right as it was nearing The Light, both Simon and Grace have no idea what is happening. Grace knows he was supposed to be in his house on Erid, Simon knows this new guy cannot possibly be a hallucination, and Ava, upon hearing Grace ramble about theories for how he got there, knows that new guy is Smart. Could-Secure-Our-Survival Smart.
She orders Simon to bring Grace back to the surface, and thus begins Grace's ordeal in a starless universe. -

Scrambling frantically, Grace manages to take a look out the window. And there it is. In the not so far distance floats what seems to be a…. submarine?? He rubs his eyes incredulously. This is by no means possible. But then again. He befriended a talking rock with an IQ of approximately three hundred and went space fishing for unknown bacteria while the sky was practically burning so a submarine in space shouldn’t really stand out that much… right?

When Grace landed on a random moon in a solar system devoid of stars, he had lost hope. They weren't going to make it back to Erid. He wouldn't be able to get Rocky home.
But meeting a stranger gives him a new sense of hope.Simon had thought he was going to die down in that blood ocean. Perhaps he had.
