Greg Lestrade is done. He’s done with London town. The rain. The tube. The prices. The tourists. The endless and relentless bouts of new and old crime, and the powers that be that pretend to govern and are unable or unwilling to actually help.
At 60, he should have it all together, right? He shouldn’t be standing under a shabby awning in the pouring rain in some godforsaken alley in a seedy part of east London hoping he wouldn’t be stabbed to death before the patrol car that he’s radioed for gets there.
Good thing Mycroft always comes to rescue him.

Summary
After the events of "This Sorrowful Life," Rick wakes up in the hospital with the name of the man he can't live without forgotten on his lips and a doctor telling him that the last two years have been a dream. He then begins the long, arduous process of readjusting to life in the real world, but he can't get the image of the beautiful archer out of his head and soon signs start to appear that the dream may actually be real.
