Summary
Random idea. Set after season 15.
Spencer was recruited into counter terrorism for the state department in the wake of the pandemic and sent undercover in Russia as a chemical engineer. He returns to the United States once his mission is complete but doesn't return to the BAU. He is tracked down by the Russian terrorists he worked with who discover his real name and kidnap him. For 2 days he is tortured for information before being dosed with an irradiated toxin and left to succumb to radiation sickness at the doors of the FBI. Against Director Bailey's wishes, the BAU take the case and try to work out who is responsible and why, whilst also trying to get Spencer through the ordeal.

Summary
His eyes were raking across Spencer’s body, making him feel small and vulnerable. His hair stood on end as the man analyzed, feeling more and more uncomfortable as time stretched on slowly. His captor’s words were only increasing his uneasiness— fun, game, appeal, a perfect replica— wondering just how bad things were about to get for him.
The man took a step closer to Spencer, now only a few inches away. “If you don’t wanna end up like Cody, you just need to follow one simple rule.”
He grabbed Spencer’s chin with his rough hands, forcing Spencer to stare straight up at him. He leaned in close, his breath hot and prickly against Spencer’s face. The younger man cringed, trying to pull himself away from his captor, but he was stuck in place.
The man looked at him, dissecting his facial features with his eyes. He grinned widely, causing a shiver to ripple down Spencer’s small frame.
“Obey me like your life depends on it.”

“Sir…” Garcia sat frozen, shocked at the video feed that had just popped up on her many screens. This can’t be happening again.
The video focused on Reid. He lay on his stomach, hogtied tightly enough to be rendered immobile. Duct tape was wrapped several times around his head, covering his eyes, ears, and mouth.
The small rise and fall of Reid’s shoulders was the only indication they had that Reid was even alive. He was breathing quickly, Hotch noted. In pain? Panic? Probably both.
”Garcia, get everyone else here right now.” Hotch ordered.
OR
Reid’s been abducted. Hogtied and suffering from sensory deprivation, the team needs to find him quickly before he’s too far gone to be helped.
