“I don’t get paid enough to be tortured like this!”
There was a slight cough from behind you that had you nearly jumping out of your skin.
“Oh my god!” you shrieked, holding a feather wand toy as a weapon. “You scared the piss out of me.”
“Not literally, I hope,” the man smirked. A deep dimple indented his tan cheek. He was a little taller than you, with midnight black, short hair. His narrow brown eyes looked amused as you stared at you, wielding your feather toy like a sword.
He was muscular, his shoulders broad. He could probably bench a pretty hefty weight.
Hell, he could probably bench press you.

“What do you get out of this arrangement?" your eyes narrowed before you threw back the remainder of your own drink. He resumed working behind the bar methodically, though his eyes stayed on you.
“A night with a striking woman,” his smirk deepened. “If I play my cards right, maybe something more.”
Your stomach let out an annoying grumble as Wooyoung pushed a check toward you. You scribbled a tip and your signature, circling the room number at the top of the print out.
“I’m off at 11pm, should you consider it.”
“Do you make a habit of this?” you pressed, your voice still a bit harsh. “Helping out patrons in need?”
“God, no,” he chuckled, as he dried the glass he had been using. “I would just like to see something other than pain on that pretty face of yours.”

And the bastard had the nerve to say out loud, “Phew, that was a close one!” before casually walking out of the bathroom to continue going about his day unbothered, whistling as he towel dried his hair. Infuriating.
Snapping the notebook in his hands shut, Mingi phased through the walls, floating above his target with his arms crossed as the human got dressed and made himself a cup of coffee, Yunho upgrading from whistling to humming beneath Mingi’s invisible glare.
By all accounts, Jeong Yunho was a perfectly ordinary soul, his near black aura signifying that he was at the end of his life cycle and therefore in need of reaping. So why wouldn’t he die?
