They were the ones who saved his life when his home was raided. They were the ones who maintained his sanity during his solitary confinement when living in The Pit. They were his first friends.

The voices roared in tandem to their host, as he blindly stumbled forward, “Noo!”
Blind to everyone else, Techno pitched forward to catch his apprentice before the body could fall backward into the beached waters. Ranboo didn’t have any last words to say, eyes already dulled in death. His corpse was yanked into his mentor’s chest as if he were a ragdoll. The grief arrived with a swift body slam on his side, Dream cramming his face into the piglin’s, screaming into deaf ears.

It’s easy to forget who you are when even your memories are something you have no real control over. It’d be so much easier to just keep floating blankly deeper and deeper, but it felt wrong. Staticky almost.

Crutchie jumped and slapped off the hand quickly. He spun around and his wild green eyes connected with his best friend's.
Jack froze, "C- Crutchie?..."
A blush began to bloom and the eye contact broke as Crutch turned back around.
"Sorry... I's just been thinkin."
"You wanna talk about it?"
Crutchie shook his head shaking slightly.

Summary
I lived with this hunger long before the Hail Mary. This is nothing new. I’m fine.
Right up until Rocky asks another question.
“When last time you touch other human person skin, question?”
Oh. Oh no. “When I… a few days after I first woke up here.”
Rocky starts to relax for a split second, but then tightens when something occurs to him.
“Grace crewmates dead when you wake up. You said this, statement. You not even know your own name, remember nothing, see dead bodies, confirm?”
I nod, because if I open my mouth I will gag.
“When last time Grace touch ALIVE human person, question.”
I swallow thickly. I don’t answer aloud because I know Rocky can hear the hitch in my breath. My stomach churns with fresh bile. He senses my vital signs tick over into stress patterns and goes very, very still again.
“Grace. When last time, question.”
I clench my jaw so hard my temples ache, and beg him with my eyes to just stop.
“Grace. Please say not when… when Evil Stratt humans put you to sleep.”
I can taste grass.

They were perched on the bridge of a nose that looked like it had been broken several times—ouch—but, that was definitely his nose. Same cheekbones. Same jaw. Ryland would know. He saw it every morning, in the streaky mirror in his bathroom.
Upwards of two decades of not seeing his twin brother, and all Ryland could focus on was that Colt was wearing sunglasses inside. Like, seriously. Who did that?"

Dr. Herrick is chatting up Grace in the corner. Or at least, he’s trying to. Grace is mostly avoiding eye contact, glancing across the room every few seconds towards particularly lively conversations, or looking down at his pack of sour skittles.
Usually, Stratt doesn’t spend much time down here in the bar with the rest of the crew—she’s busy, and she doesn’t particularly wish to soften her reputation. But she has mindless emails to answer tonight, and anyway, she’s been wanting to see how Grace interacts with the others. She’s been curious.
