Summary
All Varian wanted to do was study alchemy and help others, he knew its potentials and saw just how much of a difference it could make to the citizens of corona. His Mother had taught him the basics before she began going on her adventures with her friend but that didn’t stop him from experimenting. Sure he may have gone a little overboard with the water heaters but mistakes are bound to be made.
When the rocks appeared however he knew that it couldn’t be ignored, so he sent a letter to the smartest person he knew for advice, he just didn’t expect her to drop everything in light of a new mystery.
After all Corona had only heard rumours of the Old Coronan Witch, not to be confused by the actual witch.

When Ulla received a letter from her son regarding the growing issue of the black rocks spreading throughout the kingdom of Corona, she hauled it back. Whatever sea monster floating around the Galcrest coast could wait. Her son wanted HER help, how exciting!She had seen this before and was looking forward to cracking the code, however she may have underestimated the threat level of these rocks and what they’re after.

After the battle with the Calamity Tree everyone was exhausted, but this was another abomination (Bom-Bom) to add to the list of now destroyed threat. Aubrey however still had the feeling of guilt that was crawling up her spine and just because she wore a rad pair of shades that didn't mean others didn't see a problem.
