Benson tilted his head slightly, eyes half-lidded, expecting a kiss. That would’ve made sense. That would’ve been the story. Instead, the kid leaned in too far, breath fanning over Benson’s jaw, then his neck. And then—
A sharp, wet pain, sudden and deep.
Benson jerked. It was instinct, primal, but the kid was already wrapped around him, stronger than he should’ve been. His arms weren’t gentle now. They were holding Benson in place, pressing him back against the brick wall. Something pierced deep into his neck, and the warmth that flooded out wasn’t lust. It was blood.

A moment later, it lit, and he looked up to meet Shane’s eyes, only briefly, before looking away as he stuffed the lighter into his pocket.

“I am Ilya Rozanov.” The man added, after another moment.
“No, you're not. He's dead”
When Shane Hollander finds himself wounded and weak in an unfamiliar, dilapidated apartment with no recollection of how he got there, he is understandably doubtful when a dead man tells him that he's a vampire. Nevertheless, it is an undoubtable fact, and Shane finds himself guided into his new life by this admittedly handsome stranger.
