    Mace Windu was many things, but a morning person was not one of them. Nevertheless, the Force had deemed the ass-end of dawn to be an appropriate time to drag him out of bed and into the gardens. Not that he didn’t enjoy the scenery, but after returning from a grueling diplomatic endeavour-turned hostage negotiation not even three hours ago, he’d rather enjoy the pitch-black setting of his room.

    Still, he was a Jedi and, as such, Mace’s duty would always be to follow the will of the Force. Today, it decided to lead him towards the forested areas where two younglings were huddled together at the base of a large tree, sleeping.

    Mace tended not to spend a lot of time in the creche, but he recognized the Kiffar child as his friend Tholme's unconventional Padawan. Quinlan Vos, he believed his name was. The other boy was a scrawny redhead with deeper bags under his eyes than most grown adults and the Force drew his attention to this boy in particular.

    (In which Knight Windu meets five-year-old Kenobi and six-year-old Vos and, while some things stay the same, everything changes.)

    Buck froze for half a second before the irritation took over and made him grit his teeth. What was with this dude? Buck clenched his fist at his side as he turned to Eddie, who was perfectly coiffed with his stupid perfect dangerous hair and stupid pretty un-trustable smirk. Eddie waved his hand in front of him with a twist of his wrist, motioning between them.

    This is a story in which Obi-Wan Kenobi is only three years older than Anakin Skywalker.

    In this story, Obi-Wan is destined to be a Jedi, but spends his early life as a slave, not joining the Order until age 12.
    He is raised by Anakin’s parents in the desert sands of Tatooine.
    He is a padawan first to Dooku, then to Qui-Gon Jinn.
    He becomes a Jedi Knight, Jedi Master, and a general, all by age 22.
    He is the Chosen One, and at an age far too young, he becomes known as the, “Sith Killer.”
