David had one of them now, dragging him back by the collar, the guy kicking and swearing, blood already smeared across his arm.

He shoved the surfer forward.

“Go on,” David said, quieter now. “You’re starving.”
Michael shook his head automatically. “I’m not—”
The words died.

Summary
Santa Carla, Fall 1988.
A year after the Emerson’s leave Santa Carla, the murder capital of the world is still bustling with tourists, tired locals, and vampires. At the end of summer, a prodigal daughter returns home (sort of) and sets up shop. A long time ago, she knew two frog-faced little kids who would go on and on about how dangerous the town was, how it was filled with bloodsuckers. She hadn’t believed them then, but after an incident in Los Angeles causes her to run back to the closest thing she has to a hometown, she knows better. She should know better than to believe the word of four fanged boys at her doorstep. She should know better than to think that the dangers she left in L.A. are behind her. She should know better than to think all little old ladies are harmless. She should, she should.
But that’s never stopped her before.
A Lost Boys fic set a year after the events of the movie.

“What the hell did you do, Michael?”
Michael blinked at him, startled.
“Cuz I was dead.” David’s voice sharpened. “We were dead. Burned, staked, drowned. And now…” He gestured around them — the neon, the crowd, the same night replaying itself. “We’re standing here like none of it ever happened. So, tell me, what the hell did you do?”
Michael’s mouth opened, but no sound came out. His heartbeat thundered in his ears.
“I—I don’t…” he stammered, backing up a half-step. “I don’t know, David, I just.......I rode out to the hotel....I screamed until my throat bled. I told you I was sorry. I begged you to forgive me.” His fingers shook as he spoke, his eyes glassy. “And then…Everything went dark, and when I woke up.....I was in the car again. Back at the start. Like none of it happened.”
The silence that followed was heavy, drawn tight.
Paul exhaled slowly. “So… you wished us back?”
“I didn’t mean to!” Michael said quickly. “I didn’t even know I could!"
