A soulmate AU wherein for Dwarves, the words on your forearm are those which your soulmate says to make you realize you’re in love with them. While Bilbo certainly isn’t a Dwarf, the ink on his arm is still evident of a bond.
It should be easy: finish quest, find mysterious soulmate, live happily ever after. Unfortunately, nothing is ever so simple as it seems.

He has never fallen in love, he has never made any particularly close friends, and most of his family still thinks he spends too much time in the woods to be worthy of the Baggins name. Even now, he is the only hobbit in a fellowship full of dwarves he can’t quite make heads nor tails of.
Fortunately, the dwarves also do not know what it means to be a Baggins; they only know what it means to be a Company. And, perhaps, that is exactly the thing they need to be.
