"What do you want me to say?" Harry shouted, suddenly filled with the same irrational anger that'd been so hard to shake since Cedric's death. He jumped to his feet, unable to sit any longer. "What would you have me do? I couldn't make myself break skin, okay? Is that so hard to believe?"

Summary
Malfoy moved, entering his field of view. He seemed sceptical. Harry knew why. The book he was looking for was on Harry’s table.
Malfoy turned around and their eyes met.
‘Need my book, Malfoy?’ Harry asked with a small gesture toward the book in question. It was an obscure volume that made Harry doze off in less than three minutes.
Malfoy looked at it for a second before his gaze moved to Harry’s parchment and then back to Harry again.
‘Need my help, Potter?’
He emphasised Harry’s surname with slightly less contempt than he used to. Harry frowned. It sounded like a genuine proposition. Mostly because of Malfoy’s body language. His shoulders clearly didn’t want to stay in Harry’s vicinity, his grey eyes were determined, and his thin lips betrayed his worry. Gosh, that was some aggressive offer Harry was definitely not expecting.
‘Really?’ Harry asked, taken aback.
‘Yes ... well, you don’t look very inspired, but you have the right book. I can take a look.’
‘Er. Yeah, sure. Please.’Or Harry decides to give Ron and Hermione some space, starts befriending Malfoy, and, well, I think you pretty much know how it ends...

Summary
“I must not have heard you correctly, Headmaster,” Severus said flatly.
“You did, my boy. This isn’t only a favour to me, you understand.”
“But there must be trust," Severus insisted. "A bond… or some sort of relationship between mentor and pupil for Occlumency to be taught correctly! The only bond the brat and I share is one of mutual loathing.”
“Now, Severus, you are an adult and a Hogwarts professor. Surely, you can find a way to mend broken bridges.”
Broken bridges? Broken bridges? There had never been a "bridge" to begin with! Not with Potter, the carbon copy of his school bully, who spoke, acted, believed himself so superior to anyone else he might as well be the second coming of his father. There had always only been damp planks slogging down a river which separated them on two opposite banks. No bridge to speak of.
OR
Summer of Fifth Year. Dumbledore decides Harry should begin Occlumency immediately. Harry and Snape start seeing a lot of each other. Neither is thrilled, especially when they begrudgingly realise that maybe, possibly, perhaps, they might have more in common than they thought.- Language:
