The wind picked up. Not gradually, as wind should, but all at once—a gale that hit the Sunny from every direction simultaneously. The ship groaned, tilting dangerously to port. Luffy stood at the bow, his hair whipping in the impossible wind, his eyes bright with something between excitement and determination. "Everyone hold on! We're going through!"
"Through what?!" Usopp demanded. "There's nowhere to go through!"
"Through everything!" Luffy's grin was manic now. "This is just another adventure!"
"Your optimism is going to kill us!" Usopp wailed
But Luffy wasn't listening. He was already moving, his body stretching and warping in ways that only Gear Five allowed. "Everyone! Get behind me!"
"What are you going to do?!" Jinbe demanded.
"Punch it!".
"YOU CAN'T PUNCH LIGHT!" Usopp shrieked.
And Luffy, Luffy wasn't listening—
"—CHAMPION BAZOOKA!"
His fists connected with the beam of light.
And the world exploded

Life is cushy, working on a subterranean research facility on an underexplored ocean planet. As the resident handyman, most of your work takes place underwater - lucky for you, cave diving is your passion. With the building between bi-annual research teams, and the next lot yet to arrive, you find yourself with an excess of free time. All you have to do is fulfil your weekly duties, prepare the facility for the next team of researchers, and relax. Oh, and track down the net that went missing some time ago.
And then you find it.
In a submerged cave.
Trapping a mermaid.You really wish this wasn't your responsibility.
(Moon thinks he should have listened to Sun and stuck to hunting in warmer waters. Why does this bizarre two-tailed mermaid keep coming at him with sharp instruments?)

By definition, ailurophilia is the love for cats. For two ex-warlords it's just another nuisance in blue fur that appeared after loosing their previous headache of a clown. Even then, there was never anything they could do to stop the inconvenient, growing devotion to a furry bastard who refused to die. They never expected any of this but least of all, that the damn cat purring on their lap would be non other than their lost figurehead.

She watches Gustave for a long, sad moment, and then turns to a new page in the notepad. She starts writing something, and then stops, glancing furtively at Gustave before scribbling it out. On a new line she instead writes in big bold letters:

Gustave is the local mechanic of Lumiere, an idyllic coastal village far away from the chaos and conflict of Paris. Struggling with his recent injury and the loss of a good friend, he's not quite prepared when a family moves into the abandoned Manor on the edge of town.

Hitoshi isn’t devout, not like some of the soot-streaked street kids he shares sleeping spots and body heat with. Not like scarred Shouto or flinching Izuku, who both swear by Yagi, God of Perseverance and Patron of Common Heroes. Not like humming Kyouka, who dedicates every song that trips off her tongue to Yamada, God of Music and Patron of Restless Souls, to make even the most desperate of panhandling a prayer. Hitoshi has long-learned that sort of faith is for people with slightly more hope than him.
But this is shelter, and it’s shelter he desperately needs, and Hitoshi is not devout, but Hitoshi is also not stupid.
Hunted, terrified, and with no other options, Hitoshi takes shelter in a shrine. He expects less than nothing. What he receives, instead, is help.

Despite his casual air, Shouta was laser focused. He took in and processed information in a snap. Usual things, like the visual appearance of the room he was entering, but also things unique to Heroes and things unique to cats. The room had narrow dimensions, cold tile floor, pale blue walls, a bed in one corner and a dresser in the other, and no handle at all on the inside of the door. It smelled of laundry detergent and disinfectant and the faint but unmistakable scent of blood and medicine. There were boxes pushed up against the floorboards, what looked like children’s toys, dolls and stuffed animals and coloring books, all in their original, untouched packaging. There was a little girl kneeling on the bed, fear on her face and pain written in every line of her body.

Still curled up in pain, Tommy almost misses it—almost misses the dilation of Techno’s pupils, almost misses the constant chuff, chuff, chuff, and snort, snort, snort, as Techno’s head dips down to look at him. But Tommy’s been looking for it all week, so, as if magnetized, Tommy still lifts his pained head upward.
