“You better not be a fucking buzzkill. I’m not trying to spend my last month alive moping around. I’ve got a fuck ton of wine bottles I haven’t gotten around to popping open, more money than I know what to do with and a full tank of gas.”
Dazai grins. He collects the wine bottle settled on Chuuya’s coffee table and pours himself a glass before standing beside Chuuya, both of them looking out over the city. Dazai isn’t the biggest fan of wine, not usually. However, as the bitter, rich flavor rolls over his tongue, he thinks it actually tastes lovely.

Chuuya’s body can no longer continue harnessing Arahabaki. Honestly, he thinks he’s handling this whole dying thing pretty well, even if it means Dazai has to be by his side to ensure all of Yokohama doesn’t go down with him.
Chuuya intends to spend his final days living lavishly, inadvertently spoiling Dazai in the process. Meanwhile, a revelation has been slowly creeping up on Dazai.

It’s been a little more than a month since everything almost went to shit, since the Armed Detective Agency and Port Mafia faced off against Dostoyevsky, since Yokohama almost lost its fragile, balanced peace.
And it’s also been just about a month since Ranpo emerged from Poe’s book, all pride and glowing accomplishment for solving 500 murders in a week, and just a passing comment about the other guy losing patience and starting punching people.

Chuuya emerges from Poe's book, exhausted, to discover that Dazai has been severely injured. Standing guard in the Agency's infirmary, Yosano, Kunikida, and Chuuya find unexpected common cause in their desire to keep Dazai in one piece despite his best efforts to hide his vulnerabilities from everyone around him.

Summary
Every year they would put lights around a small Christmas tree in Chuuya's apartment, letting them be normal for once. It was their little tradition that they had just for the two of them.
Then Dazai left.
But Chuuya continues that tradition they had, just with a bottle of wine to fill that hole that Dazai carved and took with him. And that continued on for all of those years of being alone.
That is until he sees Dazai at a Christmas party 4 years later, and this time--Dazai tries to take the first step to mend that empty hole he created.

Summary
The bright screen hurts his eyes as he picks up on the second ring. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out what four-lettered word the cards they’ve been dealt spell out in neon writing. He is sorely aware that Chuuya is in his life, whether he pretends to hate it for the sake of his mental stability or not. They‘re opposites who keep getting helplessly pulled close to each other, because Chuuya’s gravitational pull is an insatiable beast that can only ever be soothed temporarily.

It was the day Dazai showed up at his door with crimson bandages instead of white ones.
That was the day Oda knew he wasn’t going to ignore the boy’s pain anymore.
“Brought you curry,” Dazai says flippantly, sounding hoarse despite the way he strolls inside, a plastic bag rustling in his hand.
Oda watches him place it on the kitchen table from where he’s seated in his reading chair. The living room harbors a warm fire, but it doesn’t feel as warm as it did a moment ago.The sudden entry has taken him by surprise, certainly, but it’s more than that.
Dazai doesn’t do this. He doesn’t offer kindness or gifts, not even when he wants something. He certainly doesn’t show up with blood on him. And he is…bleeding. Through his bandages. A trickle down his palm that nearly stains the white grocery bag, a smear across his cheek under the bandage that covers his eye. Dazai is tugging at his black sleeves to cover what shows, rearranging the collar about his neck even as he goes to the drawer for silverware.

Summary
The mission report he's received that should've been passed on to Dazai was what prompted Chuuya going through the process of asking in order to locate his place— it had nothing to do with the conversations he's had, got nothing to do with the knowledge of Dazai with his suicidal tendencies, completely unrelated with the growing unease.
So, here Chuuya is standing at the entrance of a shipping container finding one Dazai Osamu curled up in his mattress.
