I lean on close to her and contemplate leaving her with a parting gift—to remind her who she’s turning her back on. Perhaps she’ll hate me more than she did when I removed her from her home.
Takes place after The Wicked King. Jude is exiled to the mortal world, forced out of her life and her home in Faerie, and things are not as they seem...
These are not necessarily my exact predictions of where Queen of Nothing will pick up when it comes out next year, but there are elements to this story that I think could play a huge role in the third book in the series. And I'm obsessed with Jude and Cardan's dynamic, so I can't not write about them. I hope you enjoy!

Cardan's latest stunt gets him carted off to Madoc's summertime boot camp, in the hopes that he'll finally learn some responsibility. With his luck, of course his partner counselor is his stupid sexy nemesis.

I started writing this because I wanted something specific from the Cardan POV fics during Jude's imprisonment in the Undersea but then I just kept going further back in the timeline so uh here's all of The Cruel Prince from Cardan's POV. My goal is to make this a three-part work with each part corresponding to one of the main trilogy books, but I am simply following the serotonin so we will see if we make it that far.

Much has changed in the wake of the bloodbath coronation. Vivi and Jude escaped and settled into a mortal life, Madoc rules Elfhame, Balekin disappeared with the blood crown, and Cardan was spirited away to the Undersea by Nicasia. Ten years pass. Jude blossoms into a competent barista and a semi-normal human. She lives a life of quiet anonymity in the city and brews a damn fine cup of coffee. Just don't get on her bad side, or she'll poison your latte with decaf.
It would be a shame if a certain someone snaked his way into her life again. Pun fully intended. Seriously, he's going to be a big ass snake.

Her, the mortal filth parading around Faerie as though she was one of them. He hated her, and he has a plan to make her run, but only if his brain starts to work, his heart slows, and he is able to keep it in his pants.

A relatively small act of honesty and trust sends Jude and Cardan down a different path. Flirting and pining ensue.
“Do not go to bed alone tonight.”
He tilts his head and raises his eyebrows. “Is that— ” but I interrupt before he can finish the thought.
“Think of it as a sincere and urgent request.”
“If I didn’t know better, it would sound like you care for me.” A small smile creeps on his lips.
“It’s a good thing you do know better,” I say. His smile remains, but his eyes narrow at me. “Your death would cause me a headache and I am quite busy.”
“Very well. Do you have any recommendations?”Formally "This Feels Like a Date." The fic has evolved a lot and the old title hasn't made sense since chapter 6.
