Summary
Cullen Rutherford fell in love with Inquisitor Lavellan, even though such selfish and undisciplined lapses in judgement go against everything he thought he knew about himself. That was bad enough. After the Inquisitor and Solas spent two straight nights together in an all-too-public tryst in Skyhold, Cullen knew that he and Lavellan were just not meant to be. Now, there is nothing left to do but cope.
His work is his safe haven, but reminders of the Inquisitor and Solas mock him everywhere he looks. In his beat up old journal, Cullen tries to escape his heartbreak by going to the first and last real home he ever had.

"No," Jowan interrupted, "Worst case is he uses you and then reports you to Irving—"
"Oh, hush up you!"
"Mark my words," Jowan cautioned, "It's never a good thing when you catch a Templar's eye. No matter how nice they might seem."
"That seems simplistic of both of you. It can't be as straightforward as we either live happily ever after or he runs me through." Lowen pointed out.
"Come on," Jowan hissed, "Have you ever heard of a relationship between a mage and a Templar that ended well?"
