Summary
Buttercup was having a fantastic month—the best month of her life, actually—since her family’s farm boy had recently caught her fancy. What a great way to have light hearted, stable centric, in-no-way-marriage-related fun! However, when the month ended and she still hadn’t bled, Buttercup realized that flights of fancies have consequences. Which were all obviously Farm Boy’s fault, somehow.
Because Buttercup doesn’t want to marry Farm Boy, a poor orphan with nothing but a smart mouth and ocean blue eyes. Nor does she want to raise a child or die in childbirth. Therefore, she must embark on a journey to be rid of the being inside her, a journey the farm boy named Westley insists on being a part of. Because he wants to help her, and Buttercup needs that help, and he really isn’t what she thought he was at all, that farm boy. And as she begins the worst month of her life, struggling through pregnancy and its secrecy, Buttercup starts to realize that what she feels for Westley isn’t light hearted at all.
