He had taught her how to tie her shoes and sat through countless tea parties and got in arguments about who’s turn it was to do the dishes and now he looked at her as if she was a mirage on the horizon, gone the moment he got too close. She wanted to pity him fully or to hate him completely, anything to stop the tangle of emotions lodged in her heart, because there were good days too.

"Despite everything, Elliot is.. still squeamish with blood. (It makes him ill. Heavily so.) Every time he sees it, or has someone else's injury explained to him, he's disgusted. (It makes him want to vomit. Excessively.) It also just plain sucks that he's one of the healers on the team, unfortunately. (Hell, he's the only 'competent' healer. Builderman's dispensers are.. very selective on their use-case scenarios, and Two Time and Shedletsky only heal themselves.) So, all in all, he's often ending up in the mess of the killer's attacks, and he ends up.. seeing it all.
And he hates it. Sure, he can try and stay away, but.. Well.. He's not going to let anyone in the midst of chase die. He's not.. that much of a dick, after all. He tries not to be. But.. the problem is.. Is that he's getting more squeamish. Especially with the more.. brutal that the killers all are becoming."

Summary
All my Forsaken fics, written in the same universe with deviations from canon, mainly that the survivors have set aside most of their differences due to being in the realm for upwards of two years, among other major things.
[Not in chronological order, jumps around the timeline quite a bit! Also all of the lore for this series was mostly written around October-December 2025 and is now building off some outdated things ;^^]

"We were so worried, we heard you—" Ragatha starts, and then looks up. She meets Jax's gaze dead-on, and goes silent. Tears brim in the corner of her eye. Her hand flies up to cover her mouth. He can't tell if the look on her face is relief or fear.
Gangle's staring at him like she's seen a ghost. Pomni slowly raises to her feet, brows furrowed. She winces as every movement jars her wavering form.
Cowered on the floor, panting, confused and disoriented, with everyone standing above him, taller than him… it reminds Jax of something deeply unpleasant. They're all staring at him. They're all seeing him.
Jax knows they're not going to like what they see.
His breath quickens until his head is spinning, and he feels like he's going to vomit. He forces himself upwards with a frustrated cry, swaying in place, and then turns and bolts towards his room as fast as he can.
"NO!" Pomni screams.
(or: pomni pulls jax back from the brink.)

Grian shook his head slightly, “I’m not.”
Everything else was weird. His friends, memories, conversations— all strange in an indescribable way. It was logically the same but… he didn’t feel like it was.
“Well, I’m worried about you,” Scar said with a bit more force, as if trying to convince them both that his words held meaning. It sounded more frustrated than it should have.
Grian pressed his face into Scar's shoulder. He was met with cold skin and the scent of dirt and earth.
“No,” He replied, voice muffled. “You aren’t.”

He decides to just face it. “Well, you’ve got - like, the wings and everything. I needed something to call you in my head.”
Then, perks up. Smiles, “Will you tell me your name then?”

Scar finds 'Angel' in his garden in the middle of the night, covered in blood, bruises and code burns, with ripped silk robes and enormous white wings he doesn't seem to be quite used to. He won't tell him his name, and he's lying about what exactly he is, and about what's happened to land him in the middle of Boatem. And all of this seems to be correlating with Mumbo's... moods. It's been normal for him to grieve at this time every year, what with that freak accident server glitch seven years ago, but this year... it feels different. Like there's something more going on, that Scar just doesn't know about.
