Summary
Goro stared at Kurusu, blank-faced, waiting for him to follow that up with a “just kidding!”, or something else that made literally any sense at all. But Kurusu just looked back at him with a serious expression. Like he meant it. Like he actually believed, or expected Goro to believe, that his eyes could hypnotize people.
Goro opened his mouth, and for a moment he almost forgot himself and said something like “are you fucking crazy or do you just think I’m that gullible?”, but what ended up ultimately coming out was, “...What does that have to do with wearing fake glasses?”

Sometimes Akira thinks it’s just entirely unfair just how much hotter testosterone has made Goro. The sharp edge of his cheekbones, the way his muscles shift under his skin, the deepening of his voice… He’d been attractive before, of course—it was practically a requirement given his celebrity—but now that he’s settled in his own skin, confident like he never was in high school, it’s only intensified. Akira regularly finds himself distracted by it all.
Like right now, for example. Based on the way Goro’s looking at him, he’s missed some vital part of the conversation. “Sorry, uh, I zoned out a little. What did you say?”
For the millionth time this evening, Goro suppresses the urge to roll his eyes. This absolute fool, insisting on coming over to ‘hang out’ at Goro’s house, and yet Akira has the audacity to space out. There’s not even a fun mystery in guessing what has Akira’s attention; it’s far too obvious by the way those silver eyes flit to biceps and jawline.
Disgusting lustful fool, he thinks, as if he didn’t spend an hour just yesterday vigorously jerking himself raw at the thought of Akira on his knees.

Summary
10 years after the events of the Metaverse, Ren’s adult life is gray.
Grappling with alcoholism, anxiety, and crushing levels of self-loathing, every night Ren goes to sleep and lucid dreams to escape the waking world crumbling around him.
In his lucid dream, he builds a perfect, quiet version of LeBlanc. He conjures a Dream Akechi, who is programmed to just sit idly in a booth and drink coffee, letting Ren project his worries and loneliness onto him.
It was the perfect escape. Until the night Ren tried to die.
The sweet hallucination vanished, replaced by a Dreamkechi that refuses to let him quit and drags him back to the living, waking world - no matter how much it hurts him.
