A kingdom wracked by oppression and inequality, led by a weak and unpopular king, faces the return of an ancient threat. A Princess of divine blood is fated to face it. Link is a commoner from a poor family of merchants. While traveling to sell their wares, she is drawn away in the middle of the night to the Lost Woods. There the Master Sword has slept for a thousand years. Many great men have failed to pull it, but the moment Link touches it, the Sword recognizes her -- she is the Hero of Hyrule, destined to stand beside Zelda against Ganon. But how can she, when the Princess refuses to have anything to do with her?
As Princess and Hero work together, enmity becomes friendship, and friendship becomes love. But what is to be done when the desire of Link and Zelda’s hearts conflicts with their duty? When the king's commands threaten to enable Ganon's victory?
They say love is the death of duty. But it is not, and in the end, love may be the salvation of all.

And the plague ends the same.

The Siren of Eventide Island is a legend that pirates and sailors tell each other. They say she lures sailors to their doom, and that men who follow her voice never come back.
Link’s always been fascinated by the story. He feels the pull towards her island, even though he’s never heard her song. One day he sees her through his spyglass, and the image of her silhouette in the afternoon sun is burned into his brain like a brand.
She pulls him out to sea, and he goes willingly.
.....
He walks forward, taking another step, and then another, until the blade of her knife brushes against the cloth of his shirt.
“Go ahead,” he says, lifting an eyebrow. He watches the graceful lines of her throat contract as she swallows. She looks down at the silver blade in her hands, then meets his gaze again, defiance burning behind her eyes.
“Why did you come here?”
He shrugs one shoulder.
“Curiosity.”
The word is wholly inadequate to describe the force that had drawn him here.
“You would throw your life away so easily?”
“It isn’t worth much.”

Fresh out of college with her degree in computer science, Zelda Hyrule had dreams of working for the large scale tech company she'd had her sights set on since high school: Akkala Analytics. Graduating top of her class at the most prestigious University in the country, she is certain that this will be her path to a prestigious career. So when she unexpectedly finds herself in the middle of a corporate cover-up after just 6 months on the job, she is forced to choose between her career aspirations or her integrity. Out of desperation she resorts to her only available fallback plan: teaching computer science at a small-town middle/high school. This has to be the worst possible life plan for someone with such intellect and credentials, but sometimes life doesn't work out the way you plan.
