The door to the office slams shut.
This is the only place that offered an interview, and now it too has rejected him.

Atsushi jack-knifed into awareness to the sound of rapid beeping and his own rattling lungs. There was shouting and hands all over him that he tried- and failed- to fight off, until eventually he got enough movement to lean over the railings of the bed he was in and empty his stomach contents onto the floor below.
