Haven't read the story it's inspired by yet (been a bit too focused on Tony Stark lately to read anything that long focused on anyone else) but it's on my list for when I have one of my random reading moods. Seems like it's good but I admit Asgard annoyed me in general in all the movies and it's been literally decades since I've read any of the comics so I haven't been too motivated to read it yet. These were interesting though so I'm putting it on my list.

"As if Stark would tell us if he did," Fury muttered.
"I'd actually be more inclined to think we'd have learned of it by now if he had," Hill countered. "Either because of some gossip column or because he'd be investigating the incident and pestering us for information on it."
"Or he'd be attempting to hack our servers," Coulson added.
So, it was a good thing Stark seemed unaffected. Though there was a part of Fury which would have liked to have seen the man trying to accept that he had magical potential as Fury unfortunately knew the billionaire enough to know how well that would go down.
Still, if Stark had turned out to be a mage, Fury had no doubt that eventually the man would have gotten over his issues and found a way to master his full potential. If for nothing more than to become the best and make a spectacle of himself.

Summary
Finding out about his parents' murder at the hand of the Winter Soldier, Captain America's old war buddy, pushes Tony Stark into a very dark place and he turns to the former HYDRA assassin with a burning fury, part of him screaming for revenge.
Finding out that Steve knew and didn't tell him pushes him over the edge and he lashes out against the super soldier, but just as Steve is about to retaliate the Winter Soldier takes Tony by surprise, by knocking Steve out and surrendering.The Asset knows that to be free HYDRA must be crushed, and for that to happen his best chance is the resources of Tony Stark, when Captain America shows up in Bucharest the fragmented memories of who he once was tells him that the Captain will protect him and bring him to the Avengers so the Asset goes with him, but when the Captain is about to attack Iron Man with deadly intent he makes a choice and goes against the voices within.
The Asset neutralizes the Captain and surrenders to Iron Man, hoping that he will be able to convince the man to use HYDRA's own weapon to take them down.- Language:

Wow... This one is definitely very interesting, especially in terms of world building. I enjoy the way most people interact with each other in the story. I especially like the way the relationship is developing.
Unfortunately, there seems to have been no updates since April 16th of 2025, over a year now, but I've seen stories come back from longer breaks so I'm not giving up hope of it being completed someday. 😅

Will this ever be finished? Who knows? 🤷🏻♀️ It's been stuck with one chapter to go for a long time (5 years a week from now). I actually find it difficult to believe that it could be finished in a single chapter unless this was meant to be a part one. Like "this is how they got there" followed by a part two that's "this is what they did when they arrived to fix the problem" then possibly a part three that goes "this is the result of what they did." 🤔
