Kenma's mouth is a straight line. "Do you call all of your friends this much? Do you call Tobio-kun?" He questions with a tilt in his voice.
Shoyo inhales sharply. "Kageyama has nothing to do with this!" He argues.
"Mmmhmm", Kenma drags out the sound. Shoyo glares.
"Shut up. I can call you as much as I want", Shoyo declares.
Kenma raises his eyebrows. "Can you?" He moves to end the call.
"What– Kenma!" Shoyo yells.
"Shoyo, for fuck's sake, call Kageyama. You want to", Kenma concludes and ends the call.
Shoyo stays gaping at his phone like an idiot after. In the end he throws it to the other side of the room and leaves to complain to Pedro. His sweat is because of the hot weather, NOT because he's blushing.

The next time Chigiri sees Nagi, it's at lunch with Kunigami and Isagi, and he has a silver band on his ring finger. Chigiri can't stop himself from bursting out with, "You got married?" and everyone immediately whips around to stare at them.
"I didn't," Nagi says. He's sluggish to answer, eyes dull and half-lidded, and he barely turns to acknowledge Chigiri. It's not entirely uncharacteristic of him, but there's something strangely robotic about the way he leans away when Chigiri reaches for his shoulder.
"The ring finger is for couples, isn't it?" Chigiri asks. "People will think you're engaged, or something. Isn't it kind of weird?"
Nagi shifts uncomfortably in his seat. "I wouldn't mind," he whispers.
(Five times Nagi loved Reo from afar, and one time he didn't have to.)

The door bursts open.
As a reminder, the world still hates Reo, and Reo with Nagi most of all. “Mikage, you told me he dumped you!”
When Shidou finds out Reo can copy Sae, Nagi is less than thrilled at him stealing his partner. Nagi pines and Reo doesn’t get it, they both suck at communicating, and Shidou is the world’s worst and most twisted wingman, but Nagi and Reo still somehow find their way back to each other.

There’s nothing more to it, really; they’re supposed to head in, practice shooting and passing, and then leave. No pointless talking or getting to know each other on a deeper level.
That was the initial idea.
Turns out that Bachira is quite the chatterbox. He also proves to be exceptionally hard to, well, not like.

He has no clue how any of this works, but maybe a half-measure is better than trying to force it all at once.
“Okay,” Hikaru says, but it sounds like a sob. More of the unknowable, incomprehensible swirl leaks out into the dark room.
“Yoshiki – shit – ‘m sorry but can I…” Hikaru’s face – what’s visible behind the bloom of him – twists in a small kind of agony. “Can I touch you? Not much. Just – ”
It's been years since Hikaru first took the body of Yoshiki's dead best friend. Despite everything - every horror and hurt - they managed to find a home in each other. Not quite friends or family. More and not. What they have is complicated, but precious.
