Dean swears under his breath and pinches the bridge of his nose. “Look- Let’s just- Let’s forget this even happened, okay?” Even though it’s phrased as a question, Castiel understands it as closer to the command that it actually is.
But Castiel doesn’t want to forget this happened. Something is awkward and lingering in the air between them, in the way that Dean shifts from foot to foot and won’t meet Castiel’s eyes. And if Dean wasn’t shopping for Eileen, and he wasn’t shopping for another woman… The options for who was being shopped for are dwindling by the second.
Dean’s face is still pink. Castiel’s heart squeezes tight and forces itself up into his sternum.
“You were… shopping for yourself,” he says lowly.

“What, a guy can’t show a little interest in his partner?”

Dean feels a pit form in his stomach and he looks away briefly before forcing himself to meet Cas’s eyes. “I’ve been coming onto you all morning,” he argues.

Summary
An unfamiliar warmth is swirling in Ruan Lanzhu’s belly, spreading lower, liquid and hot. He is not unaware of desire, of course. He watches shamelessly as Ling Jiushi drops his sweater on the ground and slowly picks up another fruit from the side table. Wordlessly he holds it out, hand-feeding Ruan Lanzhu like he did before. Ruan Lanzhu lets him, working his mouth to free the flesh from the pit under the weight of that dark, unblinking gaze. He spits the pit out into Ling Jiushi’s waiting hand, never once breaking eye contact.
The air is thick with tension. Ling Jiushi takes a step closer as he holds up another lychee, and now his eyes are almost black.
