The sight of him, a fully-outfitted battle droid, looming almost five feet over their heads should have scared them. It didn't. To be fair, he was basically Tommy’s brother, but Techno hoped he was at least a little intimidating. He’d have to be, if he was going to get the party through this journey unscathed.
It's moving day for the underground base, and in this world, that's a big deal. Techno's got a great team, but they're human. And humans can get hurt rather easily. It's like carrying a fishbowl through a ball pit.

Looking over, he saw his companion sitting against a tree, chin touching their chest as they snored softly. He looked down at his blade, watching raindrops slide off the deadly edge. He could kill them right now. It would be easy. He had a knife. He could stab it into the other man’s chest before they even had the chance to wake up.
His friend would die. The thought was horribly simple.
He took off running. He took his cursed dagger and ran, getting himself as far from that fatal choice as he could. The water running down his cheeks tasted like salt, but he could pretend that it was the rain. Those who cried in the Arena always died first.
Twenty-four tributes from all walks of life enter the Games, but there can be only one winner. The Arena is a brutal fight for survival, full of betrayal and death. Who will emerge as the Victor, and who will lose themselves before they can get there?

Ranboo slunk around the side of the wall, the setting sun hiding them in the shadow of the town. He refused to let go of his son’s hand, repeatedly glancing over his shoulder as he strained to hear any sounds that might be coming from the city. The quiet was horribly eerie. His insides were squirming around furiously, telling him to run before he lost his chance, but he needed to know what was going on.
Ranboo and Michael arrive in Snowchester after a trip to find it deserted. I wish I could say that was the bad news.

“What’re you doing?” George asked, smiling and confused as Dream scrambled back into his chair. Techno saw a dirty joke about to come out of Wilbur's mouth and headed it off with another rap on the head and a stern glare.
“Nothing,” Dream sputtered. The red hue decorating his neck had yet to recede. He jumped to his feet and let his friend into their row of seats, awkwardly sticking his hands into his pockets as Wilbur’s smug smile widened.
Wilbur has fun at everyone else's expense. Teasing someone who blushes easily never gets old, and he'll only stop trying to set up his friends when they actually get together.
