Summary
Merlin's been around for a long time. He's been a lot of places, and he's been a lot of people. He's kept an eye on the world, and as magic hid itself, he kept an eye on both worlds, allowing Magic itself to help guide him where he was needed. A few years ago, something pushed him to return to a name and life in he'd established in Britian's Magical Society, and acquire a teaching position at Hogwarts. Now, the ever famous Harry Potter is about to start attending, and as events unfold, Merlin gets the feeling Harry's story is why he was pushed to teach, not the latest reincarnations of his first life.

Shane glanced at his fox, Akane. Still between Rozanov’s legs.
Dark eyes staring back at him. Akane didn’t have dark eyes. She had hazel eyes, brilliant, multifaceted gems that glimmered playfully in even the dimmest light.
That was Rozanov’s daemon. Of course it was.
Rozanov’s daemon was identical to Shane’s. The same body shape. The same small white diamond above the nose. The same deeper red blaze along the spine. But he still should’ve been able to tell it wasn’t Akane.

Summary
A decade later, Yuna Hollander’s dæmon would introduce himself to Ilya—not Vasilisa, but Ilya—as Akira. He would apologize for freaking them out that day, say that “my Yuna just gets like that sometimes,” and David Hollander’s dæmon (a common loon named Marie, who perched atop David’s or Yuna’s or Shane’s shoulder like it was nothing) would chirp her soft agreement. Ilya and Vasilisa would learn that not all wolf dæmons were Dominika, not all fathers were Grigori.

Summary
“Look, red!” Shane holds his clenched fist up triumphantly, and Yuna carefully steps over the baby gate blocking Shane’s doorway.
“Let me see.” she says softly, knowing full well that there’s nothing for her to see at all. The red string of fate that ties two souls together can only be seen by the people connected by it. Her own string leads her right to David, and she can only hope that whoever’s on the other end of Shane’s string is a worthy soulmate for her baby.
“Mine.” Shane, who’s never been possessive about any of his toys, is practically growling at her; stubbornly shaking his head. He wraps his free hand around his fist, pulling both close to his chest.
She tries not to find it adorable, and fails.
