It was nearing one in the morning, and tensions ran as high as ever. They’d lost three pilots in twice as many months, and Pentecost had been breathing down their necks for any sort of useful information for the past five. The cherry on top, Newt thought, had to be that Hermann was being even more of an asshole than usual.
Cabinets slammed and shuddered, and voices echoed throughout the lab. A piece of chalk had landed in Newt’s most recent experiment (he’d been trying to separate the compounds in kaiju spinal fluids for about four months), and Newt had, well, flipped his fucking lid. Now he was screaming his lungs out, red in the face, because Hermann had started this fight, and Newt was going to fucking finish it.
Or: Newt and Hermann have lab sex.

Eddie sighed and tossed the rag aside. “I’m not being weird. The kid’s just… suspicious, okay? Nobody shows up in a spotless Beemer, looking that good, just to take a desk job in this dump for minimum wage. He’s digging for something, I can feel it.”
Chrissy raised a brow. “Digging for what, exactly?”
He hesitated. “Hell if I know. Me?”
She stared, then snorted. “Right. The feds finally figured it out. Send in some pretty boy in tight jeans to make you confess.”
Eddie tried not to smile, and failed completely. “You joke, but that’s exactly how they’d get me.”
“Damn right it is.”

Summary
After the final battle of season 4, the party believes Eddie to be dead, he isn’t. Him and his Uncle are offered a chance of a new life out of Hawkins. But he can't talk to his friends, they have to believe he’s still dead. With what looks like no life in Hawkins the Munsons move and the party continues on grieving their friend. In 1990 Steve Harrington is a depressed 23 year old who needs to get out of Hawkins before it kills him. When he hears of a job in Wyoming looking for hard workers good with their hands he has no reason not to pack up his things and get out. What he doesn’t expect it the man that has haunted his dreams long before the spring of 86 to be sitting on top a horse when he gets there.
