Summary
Barnaby Brooks Jr., Lord Lapincourt, is going back to his country estate for the first time in twenty years. His only goal is to fix the estate's precarious financial situation and return to the city as quickly as possible, but both the estate and his manor itself require far more work than he anticipated.
The last thing Barnaby wants is help in the form of the annoying (and attractive) farmer who also happens to be his neighbor. But it might be exactly what he needs.
(Or, the one where Barnaby and Kotetsu rebuild a house and fall in love, not necessarily in that order.)

When Kirishima Eijirou's band hits the big time, he's not prepared for his newfound fame. He's even less prepared to meet the actor he's been crushing on for years, or to start dating him as a publicity stunt. "It's very rare for a Guide to survive the death of their Sentinel. A Bonded relationship is so symbiotic that it is difficult for one to live without the other. And that isn't taking into account the emotional backlash that the death of such a pillar would cause. Usually in the few cases where a Guide or a Sentinel survives the death of their partner, there is a child or other dependent involved. The majority of those Guide's and Sentinel's, after the bond to their partner is severed, their minds and senses are blown completely open. All of their shielding dies with their partner. But occasionally, a Guide looses their partner and they go Offline. Their shielding is gone but their minds are still closed. Something about the stress of the loss destroys the Guide's natural empathetic ability and, usually, their ability to empathize at all."
Tomoe is gone but Kotetsu survived. They declared him offline and Kotetsu did not argue. But Jake Martinez is about to expose a secret that Kotetsu has been hiding for five years.

“You have to promise you’ll come back,” Grace demands, his own lower lip trembling. "Pinky promise!" He jabs his pinky into Simon’s cheek and pokes him with it until Simon looks up.
Simon’s eyes are red-rimmed, but Grace’s glad that he’s managed to surprise just the tiniest smile from him. “I’m not pinky promising, that shit’s for babies,” he says, eyeing Grace’s extended pinky with mock disdain.
“Then how am I supposed to know you’ll keep your promise?” Grace shoots back.
“We gotta seal the deal with something else,” Simon says seriously.
