Summary
A what if of the loops in Arc 3.
"Rem" his voice is shaky as he said her name. His hands shake and tears fill his eyes.
‘He's in pain’ and even though she doesn't know why he is hurting she chooses to comfort him. She reaches out and cups his cheek with her small hand and uses her thumb to wipe away at the tears streaming from his eyes.
In this brief moment her small action seems to bring him a comfort he desperately needs and she feels his hands on her begin to loosen and his gaze softens bit by bit.
“It's okay Subaru, I'm here, it's okay, I'll always be here” but then she feels him stiffening and he grabs her hand. His eyes are filled with that fear again as he holds her hand. But he isn't being as harsh as before and it feels like he's treating her like a fragile piece of glass.
“ Rem” his voice is gravelly and he sounds tired, like something he went through in the few minutes they were here at this merchant stand hurt too much. It makes her sad that whatever happened to him is so painful. She wishes she knew what was wrong so she could help him, but even if she doesn't know why he is in so much pain she'll do her best to ease his worries and heart.
