Percival wakes every morning with a sudden and violent jolt to consciousness. It's been an undeniable fact since he'd first joined their ragtag group. For so long, it was something he simply dealt with alone, occasionally waking on a shout or a lunge for some invisible assailant.
Vex offered companionship during their mornings following their learning of the Briarwoods; still long before they were ever something more. Never able to offer more for fear of pushing too many boundaries in all the wrong places. So, she kept her careful distance.
Now, far past then and in their shared bed during the early morning hours, she waits for him to wake. Happy to give the love and comfort she was never able to for so very long.
