As he peeked up at his face once he made his way to his rotund pecs, he could notice that slight furrow of his bushy brows, the efforts to process the situation as he observed with that bemused puppy-like look, watching the arising unprecedented feelings build up right where he was being kissed, suckled, appreciated... Dare he said worshipped.It made Viktor excited. It was like a chemical experiment, but much more satisfying. Much like a scientist, he also had complete control over him, knowing exactly which buttons to press.

Summary
Half a decade after Viktor leaves Piltover for good, a fragment of Hexcore permanently adhered to his soul, an old friend comes to him for help. This wouldn't be an issue, if the same old friend hadn't spent the last five years trying to hit him, very hard, with a really big hammer.
“You’re not real,” Viktor repeated, closing his eyes. Even with the knowledge that this was a dream, the gentle touch unraveled him. There was an impact crater where his heart should be.
The calloused pad of Jayce's thumb found the corner of Viktor’s mouth. “All right. I’ll bite – what’s your evidence for this hypothesis?”
Viktor smiled into the touch, felt it tug against Jayce's thumbprint. “Isn’t it obvious? You haven’t tried to kill me yet.” -

Two weeks before Christmas, Viktor was in the lab helping Jayce decorate late into the night. They both began by untangling strings of colored lights from the boxes that had been collected for the last few weeks. The whole thing had been Jayce’s idea early on; they spent long hours in the lab almost every day, they may as well make things a bit more festive. Viktor thought it was a lovely idea and for those few weeks of early December, they had meticulously came up with design plans.

“What? Do I not fuck you adequately anymore? Do you have criticisms of my technique?”

Summary

In reality, Viktor is concerned about Jayce and how overly physical some people seem to be around him. He agrees to go only so he can keep an eye on him and the vultures at bay. However, it seems that Jayce isn't the only one with a knack for drawing unwanted attention...

Viktor makes a little sound partway between an exhale and a chuckle.

Ah. The perfect title for the book that he’d eventually write about this wild ass relationship he was in.

The scientific method, the golden rule of innovation, stated that you had to test your principle a few hundred times before your hypothesis could be accepted as fact. You had to fail in a myriad of ways before anything resembling the first breakthrough. It was simply the risk of invention. Nowhere did it account for the easy, simple way Jayce and Viktor slotted together on the first try, the transformation of how their collective years and heated discussions, and even the rare moment of heartbreak, could smoothen into a single golden thread of enduring.
Nowhere could it fathom the way Jayce looked at him, flushed and excited after a night out and said “V, let’s find a place together”
Or: Jayce overthinks his adult autism diagnosis, and Viktor overthinks moving in together. Between the two of them, they rediscover what it means for someone who know you wholly, and love you anyway

An omega in Piltover should be slight, demure, sweet, and deferential. An alpha should be strong, determined, outgoing, and commanding. Jayce was never the definition of an omega, always too big, always too loud, and too obsessed with bringing magic to the world. Viktor was determined, but due to his crippled body, no one saw him for the alpha he was. Maybe they were misplaced, but working together, none of that mattered.
