Sam hated how much clowns terrified him. Their strange, painted grins that often contradicted their actual expressions, their white faces that were cracking and peeling off most of the time, their stupid little red noses-
All of it unsettled something deep inside Sam, and he knew why it unsettled him, but no matter how much he tried to justify his fear, he couldn't help the wave of shame he felt every time a painted jokester passed by him and he jumped almost a foot into the air.

It starts as it will end. With the holy grail, the answer to answer all questions, the reason for why they do most things, and why they get out of bed in the morning. A ball. Specifically, a tennis ball with patches missing and dirt stuck in the used to be neon fluorescent yellow fuzz. It smelt of alcohol and piss, and felt sticky to the touch like someone dumped hot cola on it. In actuality, it wasn’t a ball, it was The Ball.

But nothing happen: the flame crackled, regardless of the efforts of the now-former Fire Lord.
"Prisoner, you have a visitor."
Finally a break from the usual monotony.
The guard let in Iroh, his expression neutral, as if he didn't know how to behave with him. And hadn't it always been like this since Ozai was a child and Iroh a young man?
"Ah, brother. Have you come to see your triumph?" he laughed at him, the bitterness that filled his words.
[Four people come to visit the former Fire Lord, but none of them are who he is waiting ]

"So why don't you announce your relationship?" Aang suggested softly before quickly adding as Zuko's golden eyes met his gray ones, "if you two want to, obviously, but isn't that tradition? To announce exciting things about the Fire Nation during the celebration?"
Zuko paused, trying to process what that would be like, to finally be out in the nation he had personally toiled away at for days and nights to ensure safety, to finally be rid of marriage offers and letters and watching as nobility nodded sadly when he had to reject them.
"It's not the worst idea." Sokka supplied softly, gently running his hand up Zuko's bicep.
Or: Sokka does drag, Zuko finally stops procrastinating on coming out to Iroh, and Toph still punches people in the arm, all with a week-long celebration as the backdrop.
