Summary
I live to see another day (and another fic with multiple chapters I begun). I'm kinda obsessed now, soz, I'm not letting them go. Trying to write a better fic than last time too, aiming for a bit of a slower burn (though it's faster paced? Maybe? Who knows?).

Nothing better than being alone with your best friend in the radius of light years. What could go wrong? Well, for once, you can run out of real food and rely on coma slurry, and you can't even go back to coma because then your short friend will die of boredom. So what's left to do? Adrian is, to put it bluntly, very upfront. And even a little bit rude sometimes. But they are never mean. When Rocky and I started teaching them English, them and I started joking back and forth a bit. Their humour is dry (like a lot of Eridians, I have found) but they always know how to make me laugh. They’re caring and smart and—I’m getting off track.
To put it shortly, I am…attracted to Adrian. This realisation came shortly after I realised a looming crush on Rocky. How embarrassing. Nothing about us is compatible. I would die outside of my ‘enclosure’ (for lack of a better word) and they would die a slow and painful death inside of mine. Without a protective suit on, I mean.

Adrian leans forward. Just slightly, with their elbows resting on their knees.
“Grace,” they say softly—their voice like velvet now, instead of the neutral politeness— ”would you be interested in seeing what Rocky and I have been working on?”
My breath hitches.
That tone. That look.
Adrian’s practically oozing seduction right now, and Rocky—traitor that he is—hasn’t stopped his wandering hands either. If anything, they’re getting bolder.
“Y-yeah, yeah.” I say weakly, not even sure what I’m agreeing to yet. Rocky nuzzles into the crook of my neck with a hum.

"You have no idea what you're asking for," Rocky snarls as he watches Grace slowly start to crawl back. There's a small pool of liquid forming beneath him and Rocky wants to eat him alive.
"Yes, I do," Grace whines breathlessly. "Please, Rocky. Please, alpha."
Rocky inhales sharply.
"Run," he says.
"W... What?"
"I said run," Rocky growls.
Grace squeals and takes off.
Rocky gives chase.

Grace is an excellent scientist, no matter what his colleagues back on Erid might have said once.
As such, he knows that with the right methods and experimentation, he can convince Rocky that they belong together.
He's desperate for it.
