    "Surely you could draw a friendlier notion," Maruki exasperated as he remained peacefully still, joining the Hunter's idle watch. "Our walls aren't meant to imprison those who don't think they can belong here. We aren't orthodox like Shido's hand."

    "You didn't answer my question," the Hunter's eyes narrowed at him. "Are you going to argue they are neither?"

    "We are men who need a net to fall back to," Maruki argued. "Most of us are the exiled, the unwanted escapees or those who were fated to wash up on our shore by our Blind Grace."

    "And which one are you?"

    Father Maruki kept his smile serene, unbidden of anything unwanted.

    After losing his daughter and washing ashore at a saviour's prayer, Zenkichi has a long way to make up for his sins and put Owada's head on a spike before losing himself to his rot.

    His saviour, however, sees an anger unchecked and an iron for the cosmos, waiting to be forged.
