Viktor doesn’t get the chance to finish his thought, because suddenly Jayce’s lips are on his own, and the calculated webbing that is Viktor’s mind goes up in smoke.
The kiss feels like dying. It aches, this shard of humanity that is falling through his fingers. Viktor fumbles to cling to it, to hold it close to his withered chest, to allow it to light something deep within that had started to go out-

Mhm,” Sapnap hums, pressing a kiss to George’s clothed shoulder. “You hungry, baby?”
The pet name is said incredibly softly, and it makes a warm glow pulse inside George’s chest, though it doesn’t last.
Most of the time George thinks of Sapnap as his baby, smaller than him and soft and sweet and precious when he’s not being obnoxiously loud and annoying as hell. There are days like this, though, where George is shrunk down to almost nothing, colours washed out and substance shrivelled away. He’s ghostly, like an afterimage printed sickeningly blue against a dazed darkness, weighed down by his heavy dredged-up thoughts. He feels staticy, paranoid about power outages, scared that he’ll lose connection and end up shivering in the stuttering silence of his London apartment, alone.
“Honey,” Sapnap murmurs, interrupting George’s fraying thoughts. “What do you wanna eat?”
“Nothing," George mutters. "I'm not hungry."

Summary
George has spent the last decade partying through school. First college, then university, and now uni again for his doctorate. He's fucked his way through every campus he's set foot on and that didn't change when he transferred to America for his masters degree a few years back. Especially now that his parents have a harder time breathing down his neck. The distance is a breath of fresh air that he knows is fleeting. Their wealth and influence is like a death grip around George's neck at times and he's dreading the arranged marriage he knows is coming as soon as he's done with school in the states. He needs to make this time last as long as possible.
Sapnap is in his final year of undergrad, ready to take on all his classes while tutoring the fraternity his childhood best friend is part of for a bit of cash to help out his parents. He doesn't party or smoke or any of that stuff people his age seem to always be doing when he sees them. He does his homework, tutors frat boys, and tries his best to get out of Dream's attempts at "turning him into a man". All he needs to do is get through this year and he'll finally be on his way to making his family proud. At least, he hopes so.

Nick Hayes— or more commonly known to Dream as his nickname and gamertag Sapnap— his best friend since birth. For Dream, that day marked the end of the world as he knew it.
The apocalypse has befallen humanity, infected hordes infest the streets, but the end of the world for Dream started when Sapnap disappeared. But unbeknownst to him, all hope might not be lost. For finding his best friend, and for humanity.
It starts with the boy he stumbles upon in the forest, who pins him to the ground with a gun to his head.

“Sapnap,” George drawls. His feet knock together, legs bent up at the knee as he lies stomach-down on Sapnap’s bed. He’s scrolling TikTok, volume obnoxiously loud despite the fact that Sapnap has told him like ten times to turn it down.
“George,” Sapnap replies. He’s flat on his back on the floor, staring up at the ceiling, one AirPod in. The other is tucked into the case in his pocket so he can hear George’s occasional little giggles.
“It’s time,” George says, overly dramatic, rolling off the bed with an oof!
“Time?” Sapnap questions, for the sake of being annoying, even though he knows exactly what George is talking about.
“Time for you to stop being an idiot,” George says, glancing firmly down at an imaginary watch. “Oh, wait, that was rescheduled to never.”

before dream can process what’s happening, there’s arms wrapping around his middle and a face nuzzling itself into his chest, and oh, george is hugging him.
he quickly returns the embrace, circling his arms securely around george’s shoulders and pulling him in. george lets out a sigh, and dream can feel the way his breath grazes the skin of his neck. goosebumps rise all over his body, and he refrains from shivering.
“thanks for takin’ care of me,” george mumbles into the fabric of dream’s sweater. “for being here.”
“of course,” dream replies, pressing a faint kiss into george’s hair. “‘m always here for you. love you.”
“mmm,” george pulls back slightly to peer up at dream, locking him in place with his gaze. “me too.”
dream grins so hard he thinks his face will rip in half.

Summary
The blaring thump of George's heart serves as an alarm, reminding him that where he crossed this line the first time there was reason. There was alcohol intoxicating his fingertips as they wound through Dream's hair, there was the excuse of a dumb college party where everyone hooks up with anyone, and there was Dream's sticky and sweet gaze on him, luring him in.
Dream's tugged away from the soft yellow glow of the hallway into the dim, shadow-plagued room, and George welcomes him lips-first.
How could this be a bad idea when Dream's lips feel like that?
Or, George's one-night stand with his least favorite person turns into a little more than that.
