I wanted to explore Crosshair and Omega's journey of healing in this one. We all know this is not a linear process, and I feel like at the beginning, Cross would struggle more than most in finding a way to feel safe enough to open up. I see so much of his need to appear strong in Omega, and I think it would transfer to both of their coping mechanisms as well. And so this happened, and I made myself even more sad <3

Something about those dog metaphors ruins me every time. I wanted to explore the depression that Echo struggles with, and how that looks when someone doesn't have a name for it, but still faces it head on every day. How it looks with a found family that you didn't necessarily ask for, not at first.'But he and his brothers were collared beasts no longer. They were standing on shaking new legs, reborn as something gentler, with teeth never meant to rip and tear and hurt. All learning to walk together.'

She had bled beside the men she thought of as her brothers, grieved with them. But she had never been afraid of them.

Humans are some of the only species in the galaxy to have adrenaline, this is why the Clones are made as humans. Other species are absolutely terrified of the clones in an eldritch-being kind of way when they watch them limp away from being literally blown up, or other horrific injuries.
