Rhaenyra and Laenor both knew the backlash that would undoubtedly occur should they not have a trueborn heir of their own, likely courtesy of the Hightowers. So they get...creative. Harwin very much enjoys laughing at both of them.
(A cup and funnel, a turkey baster, they'd tried it all. Things finally worked out when Harwin offered to help them. Jacaerys is born with silver-blond hair and the same lilac eyes as his mother.

Summary
As part of Targaryen tradition, each member of the royal family is gifted a petrified dragon egg to take with them everywhere. When a Targaryen falls ill or is injured, eggs will be placed in the fire closest to the fallen dragon, in hopes that their magic may heal the Prince/Princess.
Baelor Targaryen wakes a week after the Trail by Seven, while his condition isn't as bad as the maesters had feared, it's still not ideal. Also four of the five dragon eggs that were placed in his hearth hatch.

Summary

His murder - for Baelor could hardly call it anything else despite the desperate hopes and fervent prayers of his lady wife to recover a boy, not a body - had broken the tentative peace that had been reached between King Daeron the Good and his many bastard brothers, and had earned Baelor his name as both Breakspear and Hammer.
It hadn't brought his son back to him. Hadn't made his wife any happier, or his sons remember their brother as anything other than a single portrait hung dearly upon the family solar. So Baelor had hid his grief deep beneath his chest, turned his attentions to the few sons he had left, and held them tight.

“Hey, Dunk,” the boy says, his almost purple eyes flickering to the knight at his side. Ser Duncan merely hums in response. “I think I finally found out who they were trying to ransom me to,” the boy says, and Baelor’s breath catches.
“What?” Ser Duncan asks, furrowing a brow.
“The bad guys, when you and Ser Arlan found me, remember?” the boy asks, his eyes still flitting over Baelor’s face. “Didn’t you say that Prince Matarys went missing around the same time?” Ser Duncan stills, then he buries his head in his hands with a groan.
“Rys,” Ser Duncan says eventually, looking up with a long-suffering sigh. “That’s not your name, is it?”
“No,” the boy, Rys, says, sounding reluctant. “I’m not sure it ever was.”

No, Aegon!” she snaps, rage filling her, but it’s not really the boy she’s angry at, even as his shoulders hunch even more. She breathes, feeling like she’s breathing fire as she turns on her heel and glares at him standing there. So impeccably dressed. So fucking beautiful, for all that she can’t stand the sight of him. “Not Bael, was it?” she spits at him. “Baelor!” she sneers. He flushes, looking so like his nephew it does nothing but fuel the flames of her rage.
“What?” she hears Egg exclaim behind her, but she doesn’t turn to look. Can’t bring herself to tear her eyes away from him.
“Was any of it real?” she asks, he won’t meet her eyes. “Or is lying all you Targaryens are good for?” Maybe Raymun was right.
