“Why were you talking to that guy earlier?” Barty asks harshly, bringing his hand up to rest firmly on Evan's waist
Evan has to suppress a chuckle. “That's what you're mad about?” Evan asks
“Yes, that's what I'm fucking mad about!” Barty snaps
“It's none of your business, Crouch,” Evan says sweetly as he brings his hand up to Barty’s neck and traces the lines of the tattoo poking out of the collar of his t-shirt.

Or, Evan purposely flirts with other people, knowing Barty is (for some reason) very possessive of him, just to make Barty jealous.

Summary
Evan and Barty have lived together for over five years. They have always had a somewhat flirty friendship. Its just how they are. But now something feels differant to Evan, its probably nothing but its hard to ignore that nagging feeling in his chest to interfere when Barty leaves to go on another one of his weekly dates.

Or, Evan is struggling to cope with changing feelings, and Barty is making it worse by dating/sleeping around with anyone who will let him.
